Site Survey & Audits – Utility Firm

In 2022-2023 we worked with a large utility company with over 400 sites around the region. They needed to get a handle on what they had in their facilities as it relates to their technology. We designed a process by which we could deploy auditors to their sites to inspect and report. This included things like physical security, environmental conditions in their data rooms, reviewing equipment in the racks and documenting what was present, the age, status. We also did a wireless network design while there. Our deliverables included the wireless design and a full report of our findings. If the site did not have floor plans, we also developed those for them. While there we also looked at how they can become compliant with their regulatory needs and presented some options for them to review.

We completed a pilot of ten sites successfully. Due to higher than expected costs to get these representative ten sites into compliance, the client opted to pause the project while they worked out issues with their outsourced IT team.
